Bronze Award Project Procedure

The Bronze Award is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn.  All of the requirements must be met before leaving Junior Scouts.  The Bronze Award is not a prerequisite for the Girl Scout Silver Award or the Girl Scout Gold Award.  This award does not require approval by the Council as Silver and Gold Awards do. Rather, it is supervised by the Service Unit.  In SU 1, the Leader Support Manager supervises the procedure:
  1. Girls submit their Project Proposal (PDF file to print and fill out), one proposal per project, to the Leader Support Manager for approval prior to beginning the project.  Our Service Unit  has added this step to the Bronze Award process.
  2. After receiving LSM approval, it may be helpful for the girls to use the Bronze Award Project Sheet (PDF) during the project.
  3. Upon project completion, the girls fill out one Bronze Award Completion (PDF) form for the project.
  4. One copy of the Bronze Award Completion form for each project is submitted to the Leader Support Manager. The Service Unit will submit this copy to Council.  The original form is retained by the troop.
  5. Junior Scouts are honored at a Service Unit Bronze Award Ceremony.  Leaders may purchase the Bronze Award pin at a Girl Scout store and present it to girls who have earned the award.
