Girl Awards <> Bronze Awards <> Silver Awards <> Gold Awards The Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards are the highest awards girls can earn in Girl Scouts. Our service unit is always very proud to have girls earn these awards and we strive to support and assist girls in this endeavor. The best way we can do this is to know about all our girl award projects, so we request the service unit be formally notified when an award project is proposed. The girl or team of girls should complete the appropriate level project proposal form and submit it to the service unit (directions are on the forms). Once an award project is completed, the service unit would like to know the project was successfully completed and we ask the girl or team of girls to fill out a notice of completion form. This will ensure the service unit maintains accurate records of all girl awards earned within the service unit each year. And, knowing who earned a girl award allows the service unit to congratulate and honor every girl who earns the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award. Bronze
Awards
Changes to the Girl Awards are being instituted by GSUSA. During the 2009-2010 year, girls in the GSNC Council may use either the old guidelines for the Bronze Award or they may use the new guidelines. Girls must follow completely either the old guidelines or the new guidelines – the two may not be combined/mixed. As of September 2010, all GSNC Scouts starting the Bronze Award must use the new guidelines. A Bronze Award that is already in process and following the old guidelines as of September 2010 will be allowed to finish under the old guidelines. Old guidelines are located in the Junior Handbook. New guidelines are located on the GSUSA Web site. Service Unit 601 requests notification of Bronze Award Project Proposals and notification of completed Bronze Awards. Silver
